Drying Conditions
Temperature
80°C
Time
4-6h
Target Moisture
0.08%
A dehumidifying dryer is recommended (relatively hygroscopic).
Melt Temperature
240~270°C
⚠ Thermal degradation risk above 300°C
Minimize residence time and avoid exceeding this temperature.
Mold Temperature
60~90°C
GF-reinforced grade: 80-100°C
Shrinkage
0.8~1.5%
Common Defects & First Checks
Silver Streak
PA6: hygroscopic, always check drying first.
Sink Mark
PA6: hygroscopic, always check drying first.
Warpage
PA6: hygroscopic, always check drying first.
Field Notes
PA6: hygroscopic, always check drying first. Moisture is the #1 cause of silver streak. Crystallization shrinkage 0.8-1.5%. GF grades warp from fiber orientation. Lower melt bound 240°C = Tm 222 + margin; below this expect unmelt/low-melt defects. Max residence ~10min at melt temp.
